I will preface this post by saying: I love my mother.
That being said, I was pretty jealous of the bride whose recent bridal shower I got to photograph. Because based on that shower, her mother clearly loves her more than my mother loves me.
In all seriousness, this mom put together the most incredible bridal shower, complete with every display and activity a bride-to-be could ever have wished for. And it took place at the garden house behind the historical Keeler Tavern in Ridgefield, CT.
The Garden House is an incredible venue for a lavish celebration like this – guests can mill on the porch, explore the garden, or escape to the large, bright dining room indoors.
All around the room were well-planned displays celebrating the life of the bride-to-be and her bridesmaids, and inviting guests to bless the bride by offering marital advice, date ideas, and signing a large serving platter.
The guests had time to make their way to every display well before lunch began. Meanwhile, appetizers and drinks were served indoors and out.
While the guests mingled, we had some time for pictures…
Then it was time for lunch.
While the guests ate, I made myself scarce. Don’t want to take pictures of people chewing, or make them feel self-conscious in front of a camera while they are enjoying such a beautiful meal!
Between courses, games were brought out. My favorite was a scratch-off game of “Who got the groom?”
After the games were played and the prizes handed out, the mother of the bride presented a slideshow celebrating the bride-to-be. I had to keep myself from looking at the screen, it was such an emotional affair.
And oh my the dessert table. Just sitting there in the corner, taunting me the whole party … ::sigh::
It was an amazing bridal shower.
