I had the privilege recently of photographing the wedding of some incredibly kind and happy people – Gosia, Steve, and their son, Adrian. The entire event was held at the Stonehenge Inn in Ridgefield, CT, and it was really very romantic and well done.
The setting was really beautiful, on a small private pond with perfectly landscaped grounds that made great backdrops for portraits. The bride arranged the flowers for the tables, and they turned out lovely!
We did portraits prior to the event, which made my job a lot easier (getting portraits done before you have a chance to mess up hair/makeup/dress is always a good idea, if you’re willing!) I could post the posed shots, but candids are always my favorite.
The ceremony was simple but sweet. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her 3 year old son.
We did a few portraits after the ceremony as well – they were really good sports about it. Adrian had the toughest time with all of this pomp and circumstance.
But in the end, I was able to get him to loosen up by talking about my 3 year old’s favorite topic: dinosaurs!
Yes, they are roaring in that picture. =)
I have to say, I have been to few weddings where such a high percentage of the people danced for such a long time. They made the most of that dance floor!
The cake cutting was a bit hurried, but I managed to catch the key moments.
And at the end of the evening, I was blown away when the bride, in her crazy tight and unforgiving dress, climbed (voluntarily!) into a tree. Not kidding!
It was a lot of fun photographing this beautiful and cooperative family. To see the full album, so go: http://emilymygattlee.zenfolio.com/gosia_and_steve
